Our school has established an area for teachers to use with their students for any science or engineering related activities. We have one room that is organized for the storage of items such as microscopes, scales, balances, goggles and consumables. We have a second room that is set up with long tables and stools to provide space for cooperative group, hands-on lessons. |

What is Children’s Engineering?
Children’s engineering includes hands-on, age-appropriate technology based activities that enhance, not add to, any curriculum.
The activities are designed to extend and to promote mastery of required standards. It is part of an area of study referred to as STEM –
Science- Technology-Engineering-Mathematics.

Consumables Collection List
The engineering lessons often use consumables for building and inventing.
Below is a sampling of the items we are collecting, but anything that can be recycled is appreciated.
No glass or sharp edges please. Please wash and send in clean items. Please only send items that can be safely
transported on a school bus in a grocery bag. Wednesday morning is our collection day, so students can bring in
the items every Wednesday morning throughout the year.
